May 8, 1926 - May 17, 2017
Ilo M. McPeek, age 91 of Edison went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Woodside Village Care Center. She was born on May 8, 1926 to the late William and Mina (Wire) Bell.
Ilo was a homemaker. She had been a volunteer at Woodside Village Care Center for several years. Ilo had worked for Shelby Air Force Depot from 1944-1945, Hydraulic Press Manufacturing from 1945-1946, and Edison School Cafeteria in 1955. She was a member of the Edison United Methodist Church. Ilo was a graduate of Edison High School in the Class of 1944.
Ilo loved to play games, especially cards. Her grandchildren will remember playing hours and hours of her famous marble game.
Ilo enjoyed the simple things in life, but she cherished her family and she was a tremendous source of strength and wisdom.
We know that she is in the kingdom of God, where she was welcomed by other loved ones who proceeded her passing.
On January 4, 1947, Ilo married Donald G. McPeek in Edison, Ohio, who preceded her in death on September 2, 1991.
Ilo is survived by her daughter, Janet (Homer) Helman of Cardington; 3 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild, Joanna Yvette Ilo Helman.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ilo was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Gary McPeek; five brothers, Lloyd, Charles, Homer, Robert, and Clarence Bell; and a grandson, William McPeek.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Don Lockwood officiating. Following the service the burial will take place in the Bryn Zion Cemetery.
