Ralph (Buster) Ruggles, beloved brother passed away November 30th at the age of 77 at Mansfield General Hospital. He was born October 18, 1946, in Westfield, Ohio to the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Helman) Ruggles.
Buster started his work at a young age, farming, working on the oil rigs and as a blacksmith, he also trained horses. He would then go on to work at Stahl Metal Products in Cardington where he moved up to a supervisor and retired after 53 years.
His interests were anything with horses, going out to eat and walking. In his spare time, he built trailers and drove trucks.
He belonged to the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), which is the largest horse association in the world. Buster cherished his own horse Norman (while competing in pole competition) and his dog Daisy.
His love of horses started at a very young age, at the age of twelve he rode his first bull at Little Britches Rodeo. The love of horses continued as Buster joined his dad with his Quarter horses.
He was able to fix anything and enjoyed taking care of his little farm. He also enjoyed his outdoor time whether coon hunting, riding his horse, or just hanging out at a horse show.
Ralph is survived by his four sisters, Judy Foster of Mt. Gilead, OH; Geraldine (Frank) Foltz of Cardington, OH; Saundra (Joe) Wiley of Freedom, IN; Bonnie (Allen) Bishop of Cardington, OH and one brother, Gary (Janet) Ruggles of Cardington, OH and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jim Foster, nephew Tim Lowther, and niece Tina Lowther.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 6th hosted by his siblings at the American Legion Hall, 307 Park St, Cardington, Ohio. The celebration of life will be from 4:00-7:00 pm with a time of remembrance beginning at 6:00 pm.
