Phyllis Ann (Witzel) Jiles

Phyllis Ann Jiles, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away on December 20, 2023, at her residence in Mount Gilead, Ohio. She was born on July 26, 1939, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Delbert H. and Aural L (Kraner) Witzel. Phyllis led a life of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Phyllis had worked as a salesclerk at Lawson's. She was a member of the Windfall Lutheran church. She enjoyed helping with the Shoe Box Ministry at Chester Baptist Church.

Phyllis is survived by her children: Christy Jo (Mark) Baer of Fredericktown and James Michael Jiles of Mount Gilead; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her brother David (Rosemary) Witzel of Pennsylvania, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her children: Lorraine Richardson, Steven Richardson, Nancy Richardson, and Brian Richardson; her brother Paul Witzel, two sisters Joyce and Janet Witzel.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be announced by the family and funeral home.
