Helen Lorine (Fuller) Edwards

Helen Lorine Edwards, 86, of Edison, Ohio joined our Lord and her beloved husband in heaven on January 9, 2024. She was born January 14, 1937, to the late Arvil and Gladys Fuller of West Virginia.

Helen was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 68 years, Vernon Olney Edwards. Also, by her sisters Leigh Wolf and Jeri Tiller. Helen is survived by two sisters: Phyllis Fuller and Carlyn Straight. Her children: Mikel (wife Vickie), Denise (husband Greg), Nina (significant other Dan), Marvin and Terry. Her descendants include 5 grandchildren: Michelle, Christopher, Nathan, Raquel, and Shannon. Several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Helen and Vernon fell in love at first sight, and it lasted a lifetime. How they met was her favorite remembrance and she recounted it often to her children who knew the story by heart. Her children knew how very much they were loved, and they eventually gave up trying to be "the favorite child". They were told often and emphatically that she loved them ALL THE SAME!

Many people in Morrow County may remember Helen as a long-time employee of the Suds and Duds laundromat. She always loved being around people and really enjoyed helping others. In later years, she did compassionate and conscientious home healthcare. She also volunteered for many years at her church's food pantry. In each job she loved meeting and talking to people. Always listening attentively and sharing her genuine smile.

Always a kind and loving person, Helen naturally held many traits, values and beliefs which enriched not only her life; but also the lives of her family and those around her. Quick to smile and generous with kind words and actions, she naturally lived by the golden rule. Every day she was grateful for her blessings, never feeling she needed more. Thus, Helen enjoyed an immensely happy life.

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful she was! Being modest, she would never consider herself the ideal wife and mother, but her family knew how truly blessed they were to have her. If all people could see through her eyes, it would be a much better world for everyone.

Helen adored the color red, flowers, trees and butterflies, especially Monarchs. Please join us to celebrate her life with funeral services held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at her church of worship, with Pastor Ed Colegrove officiating. The Edison Enterprise Baptist Church located at 3055 St. Rt. 95, Edison OH. Visitation hours are Monday, January 15, 2024, from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Funeral services will commence immediately following. If you wish to give a donation, please consider her church. If you wish to honor and pay tribute to her life, plant a tree or two or flowers for the butterflies.

Following the funeral, Helen will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery located at 6916 St. Rt. 95 West, Chesterville Ohio.
