Gary Robert Bader, beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on April 22, 2024, at his home in Edison, OH. Born in Galion on October 25, 1942, to the late Lowell R. and Donna P. (Brady) Bader.
Gary graduated from Edison High School in 1960. Gary was proud to serve in the National Guard and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1981. He was honored to serve with others in his unit and their safety and welfare was important to him. Gary received his associate degree in business from Marion Technical College and dedicated many years of service to the Quaker Oats-Pet Division as a factory worker.
Gary was a farmer who collected International Cockshutt Tractors. In addition to collecting tractors, he would restore them as well. Gary was a devoted member of the Mid-Ohio Antique Tractor Association, Morrow County Antique Tractor Association, and the International Cockshutt Club.
Gary's passion for farming and restoring tractors was evident to all who knew him, and his expertise in this field was matched only by his kind and generous spirit. His knowledge and love for vintage tractors brought joy to all who shared in his hobby. Gary's legacy will live on through those he inspired and through the memories he created with his cherished family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Melodee (Kirk) Bass, son Garett Bader, his sister Carol Simpson, and three grandchildren: Christina, Faeryn and Kerik whom he loved very much and was extremely proud of.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother Randy Bader.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM at the Boundary Road Church, 3216 Township Road 75, Edison, Ohio 43320 with the funeral service to start at 1:00 PM.
