Allegra Hamsher Morrison Obituary

Allegra (Keyser) Hamsher Morrison, of Danbury (Millersburg), went home to be with the Lord, October 16, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Millersburg Christian Church in Millersburg, Ohio, where she was a member.

Burial will be in Quakerdom Cemetery in Mount Gilead, Ohio.

She was born August 4, 1931, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to J. Rex and Lana (Boord) Keyser, and married Richard Lowell "Dick" Hamsher on July 12, 1952. He preceded her in death. On May 20, 1989, she married Richard Kenneth "Dick" Morrison. He preceded her in death.

When living in Barberton, Allegra was 13 years old when she accepted Jesus into her heart at a church camp affiliated with the church, she attended Church of Christ Barberton. She was baptized in church.

In the 1950's Allegra owned a dress shop in the Millersburg Hotel. Later in life, she worked at several license bureaus. After the passing of her first husband, Allegra worked as a receptionist for Dr. Sweeney, in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. She volunteered at Joel Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg. She was an avid bowler for about 40 years but quit bowling when she was 74 years old. Her lifelong interests were sewing, crocheting, playing cards especially with a long- time friends, Jane Graven, sister in-law, Carol Fair and Jane Carroll. She also enjoyed walking, biking, exercise classes, shopping and visiting with friends and family. Her favorite hymns: Amazing Grace, O Holy Night, He Lives, and This is the Day. Her favorite flowers are lilac, pansy, and hydrangeas.

Allegra was an amazing, beautiful, strong, and courageous woman. She was a praying woman and follower of Jesus, a woman of faith. She was an encourager. She had a contagious smile, positive personality, an overall wonderful disposition. And her care, concern, and compassion will be deeply missed by many.

She will be especially extremely missed by her daughter, Patti Hamsher Jackson of Shelby, Ohio. Grandchildren, Sara Jones (Danny) of Caledonia, Ohio, Carl Jackson of Niles Ohio, and Taylor Jackson (Kayla) of Chandler Arizona, and a Great Grandson, Alex Bell (Alissa) of Camp Lejeune, NC, and a Great Granddaughter, Kendall Rae Jackson.

She also will be dearly missed by her niece, Becky (Wade) Timpner and family of Florida. Bev (Russ) Kleilein of Ashland, Ohio. Kim (Randy) Chanay of Killbuck, and Nephew Kevin Fair and family of Fresno, Ohio.

In addition, she will also be dearly missed by her stepchildren, Rick Morrison (Vicki) of Fort Myers, Florida, Roger Morrison (Nikki) of Atlanta Georgia, Mary Ann Cline (Randy) of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and Reid Morrison, (Wendy) of Trinity, Florida. Also many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Allegra was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Arthur Rex Keyser, and her daughter, Amy Sue Hinkle.
